How many hours does a Texas apprentice need to become a journeyman?

Texas requires 8,000 hours of on-the-job training under a master electrician for a journeyman license, under Occupations Code §1305.155. Under 16 TAC §73.21, you can sit for the exam after 7,000 hours, or right after you finish an approved accelerated journeyman program or an apprenticeship training program.
