What licenses do electricians need in Virginia?

Virginia's Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) licenses electricians at two levels, journeyman and master. A journeyman applicant needs 4 years of experience plus 240 hours of vocational training, or 8 years of experience alone, before taking the exam. A master needs 1 year as a licensed journeyman or 9 years of experience.
